Most of us have a deep sense of self that we aren’t good at communicating. We’ve often said to ourselves, “I’m bad at it, so I’m bad at it.” Then, we’ve blamed our shortcomings on others.
Well, that’s a pretty good way to live. We all have some form of self-awareness. There are some aspects of our minds that arent always easy to put a finger on. What we really mean by our self awareness is how much we are aware of the real world and who we are interacting with in a given moment. Many of us have a tendency to try to make things that we are not at fault for.
So here we go again, with another self-awareness faux pas. In the past week, Ive been having an awful day. Ive been having an awful week. A few days ago, I was at a friend’s house and she was having an absolutely wonderful afternoon. Then suddenly, someone knocked on the door and I was like… What the fuck?! I thought this was the most amazing day ever.
In this case, your friend’s day sucked bad enough to justify the knock. But the same could be said about many of the things we encounter. If you are always trying to push the blame of something bad on someone else, you will end up in a state of neurosis where you don’t let your own problems go.
Neurosis is a state of being unable to take a single step back and look at your own life objectively. It’s often the result of being under the mistaken impression that you can control everything. And in reality, you can’t control everything. For example, you can’t control your friends. You can’t control yourself. You can’t control your parents. You can’t control your job. You can’t control your friends. You can’t control your parents.
You can control your friends, but you cant control yourself. You cant control your parents, but you cant control yourself. So that means that your neurosis is actually your own thing. That means that you can not just turn around and give them a piece of your mind, but you have to get in there and make it your own.
You have to go the extra mile to make your own neurosis, and the best way to do that is to become a mass general neurosurgeon. The idea is to have one person focus on your neurosis and the rest of the world focus on yours. With the masses involved, you can take control of the world, not just your own life.
The best way to make your neurosis your own is to get it to the masses. It sounds like something out of a novel, but it’s really true. The masses are the people who are most receptive to your diagnosis of mental distress, the people who are capable of having you see them with your own eyes. In order to get on the mass neurosurgical bandwagon, you and your partner need to be as convincing as possible.
