We are all born into a world where things are always changing, and while this is good it can become an overwhelming experience. The world around us is never the same. The idea of the “self” is a little tricky, but for the sake of our discussion I think we can simplify it. There are two parts to the self, the ego and the I-myself. The ego is the part of us that is most concerned with not letting the world change, or that we’re not right. It is our “self” and the I-myself is our “self” in all of its imperfections.
The ego is what we normally refer to as our identity, the part of us that we can’t quite seem to shake off. Because the ego is so concerned with our identity and the I-myself, it is often hard to feel like you have it together. The ego is the part of us that is worried about being wrong, or in the wrong place at the wrong time, or that we have a lack of self-awareness.
I believe that ego is the self or the I-myself that is aware of the I-myself’s imperfections and has the ability to do better. In my case the ego is the part of me that believes I can do anything. The other part of me is the part of me that is afraid of being wrong.
The ego is the part that believes that we are complete and perfect, and that we have the ability to do anything. It is the belief that we have it together. It can be a good thing, but it can also keep the I-myself from feeling that we are worthy of living and that we belong here on earth. The ego is also the part of us that is afraid of being wrong.
